you can't live on skittles...can you?

the same way you couldn't eat the same food
all day everyday,
you can't listen to the same damn music all the time either.

sure, there are songs that i like to listen to,
some on repeat even,
but when i go to the radio, i'm looking for some variety!

i just don't get it.

why would you over play a song so much,
that people end up hating it?

i'm tired of hearing the same songs over and over again.

just because a song was a hit, doesn't mean we need
to play it a hundred times a day.

i get it already!

taylor swift likes to write loves songs,
while solja boy kisses her through the phone,
and lady gaga keeps her poker face on,
and pink is just trying to stay sober,
but the all american rejects get jealous and hope they all go through hell.
now kanye west is heartless while kelly clarkson's like just sucks without him.

for real.
good songs,
but next single please.

(ok, it doesn't piss me off as much as it sounds,
but it would be nice to switch between radio stations
and not hear the same song on all of them.)

Monsters, Goblins, and VAMPIRES...Oh My!

so.

friday night i just happened to be at wal-mart around midnight
in junction city, and since my sister is in love with the
Twilight books, and the movie, well, i decided
i'd be her favorite sister ever(well, only sister) and buy her
the Twilight dvd.

i was surprised how many people were there for this movie.
i had never seen it, didn't want to,
never read the book, didn't want to.

but i stood in line for a few minutes and purchased the 2 disc series.

i broght it home, and surprisingly my sister was still awake,
i chucked the dvd at her head, and thankfully she caught it. :D
she proceeded to squeal like a little girl and asked me if i would watch it
with her tomorrow.
i agreed, after some hesitation of course.

so saturday afternoon, we watched Twilight,
and with the exception of a few off special effects,
it was actually a pretty good movie!

yea, it was vampires, and that not really my thing,
but i actually got pretty into the movie.
not going to lie, i think it's one of my new favorites.

anywho, i hear they are coming out with a sequel?
those are usually a little iffy, but we'll see if they
can keep up with the first film.

check it out people!

and yea, have a great day!
see you all in class thursday!

I've got a secret for you.

www.postsecret.com

if you haven't ever been to this site.
you should start.

the concept is this:

frank warren, the creator of post secret,
started a project several years ago
inviting random strangers to annonomosly create and design post cards
with their individual secrets displayed on them,
and send them to him.

the only stipulations?

the secret had to be true,
and it had to be something you've never told anyone before.

it's a crazy idea, that actually worked.
he has recieved thousands and thousands of post cards in the mail
since the project first started.
and from those post cards, he picks ten new cards every week to
display on the website for the worlds to see.

he's also written 4 books with a 5 th one on it's way.
these books are a collection of post cards he's recieved
over the years that have stood out in particular to him.

personally,
i love the idea of this site.

i love checking in every sunday to see what
cards are up.
some are scary, some are sad, some are funny,
some are just plain weird.

you never know what to expect from week to week.

so yea,
i finally bought his last book,
and it came in the mail today...

so i'm going to go read it.

have a nice day.

HAH!

So,
last night I watched the movie,
Zach and Miri make a Porno.

If you like crude humor,
you'll enjoy this movie,
if you don't...
well, don't watch it.

I thought it was pretty hilarious.

Speaking of hilarious,
I also watched My Best Friend's Girl
starring Kate Hudson and Dane Cook.

Woooooooow...funny stuff.

Again, crude humor.
I find that stuff amusing, but I also realize it's not for everyone.

That said,
I need to get back to work.
Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Have a great day, and an awesome rest of Spring Break!

I'm out!

Oh, a review. Oh, I need a nap.

I've realized something...writing a blog is much
more difficult to do when it's a requirement. :D
I don't know, I'm kind of a random person,
just as I am random about posting here.
I will try to do better!

Anywho,
a few days ago, while in Missouri, and while being very bored,
a friend and I decided to rent a movie.
My friend, being picky, decided the only thing in the movie store
that she was willing to watch,
was the Changling, starring Angelina Jolie
and directed by Clint Eastwood.
Okay, I have never, ever, ever watched a movie with
Ms. Jolie in it, not because of dislike for her or anything,
I've just never had any interest in the movies she's been in,
and not saying I do now,
but,
to my surprise,
this particular movie was pretty much awesome.

If you haven't seen it, I suggest you do.
Though I will say, it's a little on the longer side, so be prepared.

There were just a lot of surprises I didn't expect to find in this movie,
and I was just amazed at the emotions it brought.
I was happy, I was sad, I was confused, I was outraged,
I was skeptical, I was torn, I was angry, I was disgusted,
I was in shock, and I was in wonder.

I will say, as I have said in class before,
I hate movies that don't have happy endings,
and this particular movie,
I'm not sure if it was a happy ending or not,
I watched the end twice, and still haven't decided
if I am satisfied with the outcome.

That's the point though, right?

In all, I was skeptical at first, but I was glad I tried something new.

Go watch,
have fun.

Errrrrrrrrrrrr, it funny how I can't make myself sit down
and write when I'm doing absolutely nothing,
and now, after driving in a car for 8 hours, after having little sleep
for the past week and being completely exhausted...
now, I want to write.

There's something wrong with me.

I think I'm weird.

And please, spare me
the "we already knew that."

[i assure you, i already know that too! :D]

I'm out.

Freedom of Your Face...I Mean Speech.

The First Amendment states:
"Congress shall make no law respecting
an establishment of religion,
or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
or abridging the freedom of speech,
or of the press;
or the right of the people peaceably to assemble,
and to petition the Government for a
redress of grievances."
As I was browsing Wikipedia for the
assignment over the first amendment,
I read through several examples of
people being prosecuted for violating
the amement.
The following, to me,
is kind of what I was trying to refer to in class.
"Thus, the Supreme Court effectively shaped the First Amendment
in such a manner as to permit a multitude of restrictions on speech.
Further restrictions on speech were accepted by the Supreme Court
when it decided Gitlow v. New York, 268 U.S. 652 (1925).
Writing for the majority, Justice Edward Sanford suggested that
states could punish words that "by their very nature, involve
danger to the public peace and to the security of the state."
Lawmakers were given the freedom to decide which speech
would constitute a danger."

So, if we go with the example in class,
I would assume media based on one groups
hatred for another, could be seen
as a danger to the public peace. Yes?

So I suppose to answer the question we were given,
the first amendment to me,
represents the freedom of speech
to the extent that it does not infringe on
someone else's right for personal safety.
Maybe?

Maybe I'm still not getting it.
I supoose we'll discuss this in class
and someone can explain it to me then.

I'm out.
